Lorene "Mama Rene" Meador, 90, of Bay City passed away June 22, 2008. She was born January 23, 1918 to the late William & Martha May Talley Henry. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church; member of VFW Post 2438 Ladies Auxiliary; member of Homemakers Club (TEEA) and volunteered at Matagorda Nursing & Rehab Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Doyal Dalton Meador; granddaughter Robin Dyan Munson; son-in-law M. T. "Sonny" Thurmond and four siblings. Survivors include daughters Minnie Thurmond, Betty & husband L. M. "Corky" Green, and Nancy & husband W. H. "Buddy" Costlow Jr.; Grandchildren and spouses Sheri & David Doguet, Vicki & Steve Wiggins, Tommy Thurmond, Larry & Michelle Green, David & Cheri Green, and Paige Eidlebach; great grandchildren David Lynn Doguet, Daric & Darin Douget, Ashley Doguet Wootten, Kristyn Ray Shahan, Kole Ray, Blaire, Jake & Lance Green Ty & Whitney Thurmond, Jessie Green, Drew Massey, Madelyn & Caleb Eidlebach; great-great grandchildren Elena Doguet & Atticus Wootten.

The Family will receive visitors from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday night at Taylor Bros. Funeral Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Her great grandsons will serve as pallbearers and her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
