Lonnie Roland Williams was born May 6, 1914 in a dirt floor log cabin built by his parents, Robert Washington & Rosa Lee Wallace Williams in Bay City, Texas. He was the eleventh child. He passed away July 8, 2011 at the age of 97.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. He owned his own trucking business in Bay City until 1970 and retired from Parker Bros. in 1979.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years Rose Polensky Williams of Bay City; daughter Mary Jean Hawthorn of Wharton; son Johnny Robert Williams of Bay City; grandsons Paul Tenberg of Van Vleck & Keith Williams of Bay City; granddaughter Jill Suzanne Davis of Bay City; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, nine sisters, one brother, one grandson and one great grandson.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 11, 2011 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Korenek officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
