Longina Mendoza Lumbreras, 70, of Van Vleck passed away June 28, 2014. She was born August 28, 1943 in El Campo, TX to the late Robert Cavazos and Rita Mendoza Cavazos. She retired from Van Vleck ISD after 30 years of service. She was Den Mother for 1st Generation Cub Scouts in Van Vleck, Den3; Pack 943 and Sport's Mom for 1st Generation Baseball, Van Vleck Little League The Dodgers.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Johnny M Cavazos, Stephen M Rodriguez and Rosie M. Cavazos. Survivors include her husband Leno Lumbreras; sons Angel C. Huerta of Greenwood, IN, Rubin C. Huerta & wife Eloise of Bryan, TX and Johnny Huerta & wife Yolanda of Van Vleck; siblings Paublo Gonzalez, Robert M. Cavazos, Tony M. Cavazos and Maria Mendoza of Houston; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel with Rev. Yolanda V. Huerta and Angel C. Huerta officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
