Lois Ann Jurek, 69 of Palacios, TX passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2005. She was born December 15, 1935 to J.E. and Noelie Sonnier. She graduated from Bay City High School in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart, Jimmie L. Jurek on June 26, 1953.

Lois was a devoted member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City, TX. She worked as a librarian at Holy Cross Catholic School. Lois and Jimmie enjoyed traveling and renewing friendships around the world. She especially enjoyed fishing in the creek behind their house.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Noelie Sonnier. She is survived by her loving husband Jimmie with whom she spent 52 years of marriage; son, Jimmy Jurek and wife Lucy of Sugar Land; daughter, Judy Nance and husband Brent of Kyle; daughter, Paula Abshier and husband Mitch of Wadsworth; son, Tim Jurek and wife Tracy of Victoria; grandchildren Leslie Nance and fiancé Matthew Work, Carrie Nance, Taylor Abshier and Lindsey Abshier.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Troy Jurek, Michael Sonnier, Matthew Work, Nolan Stoute, T.J. Moon and Gus Svatek.
