Margie Lois Lusk Cummings, 92, of Bay City, was peacefully called home June 12, 2017 while surrounded by her family. She was born May 30, 1925 at home in Maydelle, Texas, Cherokee County, to the late Albert Monroe Lusk and Nettie Lou Perry.
Lois lived her young life in and around Rusk, Texas. She married Ebbie Byron Cummings in 1947, and they lived in Sugar Valley where they raised five children. The last twenty years, Lois had lived in Bay City. She retired from working as an LVN from Matagorda General Hospital, mostly in the nursery taking care of all the newborn babies. She loved her job. Lois was a founding member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Bay City where she attended until her health prevented her going.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; her husband EB Cummings; her sister Lillie Mae Biggs and her brothers Elvis, Elton and Alvin Lusk.
She leaves behind her family, whom she loved deeply, sons David Carroll (Brenda) and Kenneth Cummings; daughters, Lynda Westbrook (John), Connie Blakley (Jimmy) and Genelle Logan (Pat); grandchildren Katherine Blakley Arceneaux, Kristi Carroll Organ, Rachel Brooks, Stepanie Carroll, Janice Brooks Hawthorne, Leslie Carroll Schmerber, Michael Blakley, Tiffany Blakley Bendix, Shannon Carroll Henning, Leaha Cummings, Christian Cummings, Catherine Grantham Warren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 9:00am Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Services will follow visitation at 10:00am at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Starks officiating.
Interment will be 2:00pm Friday, June 16 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Rusk, Texas. Pallbearers are Michael Blakley, Scott Organ, Chris Warren, Justin Hawthorne, Dennis Kilian and Jimmy Reiger. Honorary pallbearers are Don Lusk, Larry Lusk, James Schmerber, Ryan Henning, Brian Arceneaux, Brian Benedix, Sean Brooks and Shane Johnson.
