Lloyd Trim, 89, passed away peacefully at home entering his eternal glory on Monday, July 13, 2026—marking both the completion of a beautiful life and his 89th birthday. He was born on July 13, 1937, in Lamar County, Texas, to the late James Ervin Trim and Alice Myrtle (Gann) Trim.
A graduate of South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Lloyd proudly served his country for two years in the U.S. Army (1960–1962), followed by four years in the Army Reserves. He built a respected career as a journeyman machinist and millwright, starting at U.S. Steel and later retiring from the mechanical maintenance shop at the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company. Gifted with his hands and a love for horses, he also ran a side business as a skilled farrier for many years. Lloyd was active in the Kiwanis Club for a number of years.
On December 28, 1962, Lloyd married the love of his life, Sarah "Sally" Jean Greene. Together, they shared 63.5 wonderful years of deep, unwavering devotion. Following his retirement, Lloyd took on contract work at various nuclear power plants across the country, turning work into an adventure. He and Sally traveled the nation in their RV, exploring countless national parks and embracing life on the open road.
Lloyd's greatest legacy is his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally; their four beautiful daughters, Karen Lee Trim, Linda Jean Gavender, Lori Anne (Kenneth) Hilscher, and Kathy Jo Trim; his son-in-law Kenneth Hilscher; and his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Lloyd Trim, Marissa Lynn (Owen) Krauskopf, and Colby Hunter Gavender. He is also survived by his extended family, including John and Beth Shaffer, Sara Chavis, Robert (Cassie) Shaffer, Evan Shaffer, Luci Swope, Hannah (Jesse) Senita, Jeremy (Kelsey) Swope, Megan (Kyle) Larson, Sam Swope, numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat, Houdini.
He was reunited in death with his parents; his brothers, Joseph, Floyd, Gary, and Harold; and his grandchild, Abigail Emlin Hilscher.
The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 5:00pm – 7:00pm Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00pm Monday, July 20, 2026, with Chris Webber officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
