Lillian Edward Franklin, 86, passed away February 21, 2008. She was born August 23, 1921 in Franklin County, TX to the late William Edward and Vollie Baber Monroe. She had been a resident of Matagorda County since 1945 and was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Herman "Big John" Franklin and one grandson John E. Franklin. Survivors include sons Glen Franklin & wife Joyce of Tyler, TX and William Franklin & wife Irene of Kingsville, TX; sister Foy Ciriack of Azle, TX; brother Lee Monroe of Georgetown, TX; four grandchildren Scott Franklin of Corinth, TX Stephanie Rollings of Tyler, TX, William Franklin & David Franklin both of Lubbock, TX and one great granddaughter Campbell Lillian Franklin of Lubbock, TX.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Sharon Lang officiating. Pallbearers will be: Mike Ottis, Sam Stanley, Bill Franklin, David Franklin, John Bissett, and George Riddell. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
