Obituary

God danced the day you were born. You are loved. You are beautiful. You are a gift of God.

Lidia Perez was born on September 4, 1943 to Refugia Sanchez and Juan Perez in Poth, Texas. Lidia was born with Cerebral Palsy and was a special needs gift of God, who loved life and enjoyed music. She lived in Altus, Oklahoma most of her life until 2003 when she moved to Houston. After her mother's death in 2005, Lidia moved to Bay City to live with her sister who cared for her needs. Lidia is of Catholic faith. She never married or had children, but she did have six brothers and sisters and she shared a special love for a child from each one of her siblings whom she considered her own and they are: Cynthia Perez (Johnny), Christina Perez (Alfredo), Martha Perez (Rudy), Jerry Perez, Jr. (Jerry), Justin Rodriguez (JoAnn), and Isaac & Angelica Gonzales (JoElda). Lidia's pleasures in life were Dr. Pepper, eating sweets, jewelry, make-up, nail polish, perfumes, clothing and shoes. She was "all" a true lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Alfredo Perez and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her siblings JoAnn Jimenez & husband Andrew of Bay City, Johnny Perez & wife Frances of Kress, TX, Rudy Perez & wife Margaret, Jerry Perez & wife Janie and JoElda Gonzales & husband Leon all of Houston, sister-in-law Margaret Perez of Houston, a host of nieces and nephews and one aunt Paula Estrada of Snyder, TX. She will be greatly missed by her family.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday, May 22, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Houston.

The Jimenez family would like to express their gratitude and give a special thanks to Dr. Alan Barker, Dr. Kurt Moehring, Angels Care Home Health, Houston Hospice, and especially her caregivers/providers Virginia Sanchez, Elvia Fuentes, Angie Velenzuela, & Juana Amezquita of Girling Home Health. We could not have done this without you all. You have all gone beyond the call of duty.
