Obituary

Letty Arlene Patterson was born July 11, 1928 in Strong City, Oklahoma, to the late Johnnie Richard Kenmore and Serrintha West Kenmore. She passed quietly from this life at the age of 88 in Bay City, Texas on October 28, 2016.

These dates are more than statistics. They are bookends of the beautiful unfolding story of Arlene Patterson—a gentle, unassuming woman who changed lives by her quiet strength, unconditional love and genuine heartfelt concern. Caring about other people came natural and was never more evident than during the last week of her life as friends and family called or made personal visits. Even then her focus was on others.

Her personal acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior was the beginning of a lifelong commitment that made all the difference for her and for everyone who knew her.

On their 50th Wedding Anniversary, her beloved husband, James Elmer Patterson, wrote Arlene a letter in which he thanked her for her prayers, her counsel, her support and for helping to guide each of their children to Jesus. He ended the letter by saying: "Thank you Darling for being my precious wife, the mother of my family and the one who keeps my heart beating every day. I love you with every breath and heart beat." He preceded her in death in 2005.
Arlene's greatest priority was her family.

Her Sons and Daughters by Love: Mike & Judy Patterson of Cedar Lane, TX, Rick & Janet Patterson of Las Vegas, NV, David & Barbara Patterson of Spring, TX and Dale & Laura Patterson of Richardson, TX.

Her Grandchildren: Ryan Patterson (Amy), Sarah Magee (Robby), Whitney Patterson, Rachel Patterson, Jacob Patterson, Bryan Patterson, Tasha Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Andrew Patterson, Alex Patterson and Jason Patterson. Great grandchildren: Abby Magee, Emma Patterson, Ben Magee and Noah Patterson.

Her Sisters: Colene Linton of Oklahoma City, OK and Pat & Coy Quesenbury of Arlington, TX.

Arlene Patterson lived well, loved large, and impacted every member of her entire family. She was a gift—a priceless treasure who made a difference in the lives of all who knew her--a legacy of love for all to follow.
