Leonides M. Garza, Jr., 81, of Bay City passed away January 4, 2024.  He was born March 10, 1942 in Mission, TX to the late Leonides Garza, Sr. and Sofia Garza.

Leonides worked for Daily truck Lines in a number of positions from 1969  to 1986.  Leonides worked for several companies as a mechanic and had numerous friends in the Bay City community.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ruben Garza and brothers Rudy Garza, Raul Garza, Ray Garza, Emilo Garcia, Jaime Garza and a stepbrother Raul Garza.

Survivors include his wife Louise Garza; daughter Sophia Orr (James); sons Leonides Garza III, Rudy Garza (Helen), Chris Garza (Melinda) and John Paul Garza Sr.; sisters Sylvia Garza, Olga Smith and Lynn Garza; brother Ramiro Garza; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM with Rev. Gabriel Espinosa officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ruben Garza, Leonides Garza IV, John Paul Garza, Jr., Patrick Garza, Jesse Garza and Joseph Garza.
