Leona Strack Schulze, 98, formerly of Markham passed away April 20, 2016. She was born March 2, 1918 in Louise, TX to the late Joe Strack, Sr. and Selma Bender Strack.
She married Albert G. "Pete" Schulze on November 17, 1938 in El Campo, TX. They celebrated 70 years of marriage prior to his death.
She worked as a clerk at Ben Franklin's in Bay City. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, walking and riding her bike. She was a charter member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bay City.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Fred and Joe Strack, Jr. and sisters Clara Strack, Frieda Boehn, Ella Johnson and Lorene Miele.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, April 22, 2016 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jared Stillions will officiate. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in El Campo. Pallbearers will be Geren Roecker, Carl "Smoot" Roecker, Robert G. Hoffman, Randy L. Hoffman, Albert G. Hoffman and Cody R. Frick. Honorary pallbearers will be Shannon Hoffman, Wilbur Hoffman, Stanley McMillan, G. W. Bartek, Charlie Krampitz and Charles "Bubba" Frick.
