Leona M. Roecker, 91, of Brazoria passed away August 29, 2007. She was born June 15, 1916 in Tanglewood, Texas to the late John W. and Ina Mae Lynn Alexander. She was a member of the Cedar Lane Baptist Church, worked as cashier and payroll clerk for J. C. Penney for many years and worked as a telephone operator in Bay City prior to that. She was also a member and past treasurer of the Texas Home Demonstration Club and a member of "The Penney Gang".

She is survived by one daughter Arnette Smith of Lake Jackson; sister and brother-in-law Barbara E. and T. J. Middleton of Bay City; granddaughters Darla White and Dana Bozeman; and great grandchildren David White, Jada Bozeman and Jasmine Bozeman. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris W. Roecker earlier this year.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 31, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Zack Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
