Leon Edward Srubar, 80, of Sargent, passed away Friday, December 22, 2006. He was born September 12, 1926 in Sweet Home, TX to Edward & Annie Srubar. He was a resident of Matagorda County since 1965, a retired operator from Celanese Chemical Company and a veteran of the US Navy.

He is survived by his daughter: Pamela D. McDonald of Houston; his sons: Kenneth Srubar & wife Brenda of Bay City, Roger Srubar & wife Jimmy Gayle of Van Vleck and Daniel Srubar of Long Beach, CA; his sisters: Evelyn Huntley of Victoria, Joanne Cummings of Pt. Lavaca and Mary Ann Sawyer of Victoria; his brother: Eugene Srubar of Victoria; and by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Edna Lou Harvey Srubar; by his parents: Edward & Annie Srubar and by his brothers: Edwin and Robert Srubar.

The Rosary will be held at 7:30 PM Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 24, 2006 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Cindy Grimes, Charlotte Norton, Rhonda Contreras, Rochelle Scoot, RaeDonna Srubar, Brenda Bogs, Diane Nuestra, Joni Beckvar, Sheila Brown and Cathy Hernandez.
