Leola Aline Hadley Vavra, 92, of the Ashby Community near El Maton, TX, passed peacefully in her sleep Feb. 27, 2010. She was born in Poth, TX to the late Jesse C. and Martha Gregory Hadley on May 29, 1917. She married Franklin John Vavra on March 13, 1965. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was a loving wife & mother who loved her family very much and enjoyed every minute of her life.

Survivors include daughters Judy Colgan Yasoni of Houston & Carolyn Schneider & Mike Stewart of IL; grandchildren Robert Schneider III & girlfriend Tanya Youngblood, Tim Colgan, Kyle Colgan and Rachel Schneider Ivy; great grandchildren Matthew Reed and Hannah Ivy and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Nine siblings Alvin "Big Boy" Hadley, Louis Hadley, Jack Hadley, Aubrey Hadley, Joe Hadley, Lois Swenson, Mary Bell Crain, Pearl Weaver and JoAnn Hadley all preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 7pm to 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be Robert Schneider, Jr., Robert Schneider III, Nick Hendren and Elmo Duke. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Bay Villa Healthcare Center for all of the care given to her throughout the years. She kept them on their toes. Special Thanks also to Marianne and Elmo Duke for the time and care that they gave her.
