Leo "Skipper" Owen, 69, of Van Vleck passed away April 14, 2007. He was born February 1, 1938 in Bell Bottom, TX to the late W. H. and Birdie Leggett Owen. He was known as "Poppa" to a host of children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Bock Owen and a grandson William Paul Tweedle. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law Carol & Ricky Hahn of Waller, TX, Susan & Kenny Love of LaWard, TX, Jo Beth & William Tweedle of Moulton, TX and Pam & Joey Kennedy of Sargent, TX; sister Wanda Walker of Bay City; brothers Roy Owen of Bay City and Carl Owen of Tyler, TX; ten grandchildren Alan Sellers, Trey Hahn, Joshua Tweedle, Jared Tweedle, Hunter Kennedy, Michelle McDonald, Candice Love, Wendy Tweedle, Marissa Tweedle & Morgan Kennedy and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck with Rev. Jim Hardaway officiating. Pallbearers will be Alan Sellers, Trey Hahn, Roy Chase, Robert Maynes, Joey Kennedy & Donovan Hahn.
