Lela Estelle "Estie" DeBusk Johnson, age 88, passed away on September 21, 2014. Estie was born on February 9, 1926 to Charlie Mae and Charles Clayton DeBusk. Estie attended Texas Tech University for two years where she met and married her husband Billy. She and Billy eventually settled in Corpus Christi where they raised their family and made many friends. She was known for her southern kindness and hospitality and was devoted to her family, friends, and church.

Estie is preceded in death by her husband William "Billy" Johnson, her mother and father, and her son, B.C. "Tony" Johnson.

Estie is survived by her sister Lexie Isom (Bruce); her loving son, Rick Johnson (Martha); daughter-in-law Trisha Johnson; her grandchildren: Tony Johnson (Allison), Coy Harvey (Andrea), Lexie Tarwater (Sean), Paige Johnson, and Rachel Johnson; her great-grandchildren: Tristan Harvey, Portia and Presley Johnson, Sean Jr., Brandon, Kevin, and Dylan Tarwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Tuesday, September 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 2200 Ave. E on September 24 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brad Sullivan officiating. Interment will be at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas on September 25 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Farris Crain, Rocky Delano, John Fitzgerald, John Heaner, Frank Hurley, and Richard Knapik.
