Lee Hall Pierce, 80, lifelong resident of Blessing, TX passed away August 26, 2017. He was born January 25, 1937 in Bay City, TX to the late Lee M. "Tick" Pierce and Jedie "Pie" Chiles Pierce.
He was a graduate of Tidehaven High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church; American Legion Post #649; Hawley Cemetery Association; Masonic Lodge #411; Blessing Historical Foundation; Tidehaven Athletic Boosters; and Texas Cattleman Association.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Michael E. Pierce, Sr. and his sister Mary Alice Pierce.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Ona Lea Pierce; son Lee Edward Pierce (Sunny); daughter Jedie Pierce Zarate (Phillip); brother Fredrick "Pokey" Pierce (Mary); grandchildren Phillip Zarate, Jr., Joshua Lee Zarate, Logan Pierce, Zachary Pierce, Kole Mitchell (Baylee), Skylar Mitchell and Kingslee Zarate; great grandchildren Kooper Mitchell & Lynnon Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:30 PM Sunday, September 3, 2017 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Dr. James Ely officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas. Pallbearers will be: Phillip R. Zarate Jr, Mike Pierce Jr, Kole Mitchell, Ralph Petersen, Derril Franzen, and Lawrence Bartosh. Honorary pallbearers will be: Billy Jalufka Sr, Jimmy Davant, Walter Skutca, George Capak, Gary Hickl, and Edward Gurecky.
