Lawrence Norbert Hickl, Sr., 82, of El Maton passed away September 15, 2012. He was born June 6, 1930 in El Maton to the late John Hickl and Julie Pavlicek Hickl. He spent his life farming in the El Maton Community, was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the last surviving sibling of 10 children.
He is survived by his wife Edith Hickl of El Maton; daughters Ann Williams (Larry), Grace Hazlewood (Doug), and Jeanne Hickl all of Victoria; sons Larry Hickl (Jackie) of El Maton and Mark Hickl (Kim) of Austin and grandchildren Jason & Aaron Williams, Stephen & Rachel Hazlewood, John & Joyce Hickl and Kristin, Michael and Daniel Hickl.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing. Mass will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Yeboah-Amanfo officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be Jason & Aaron Williams, Stephen Hazlewood, Michael Hickl, Stanley Konvicka and Gilbert Saha. John & Daniel Hickl will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials in his name may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church or the American Alzheimer's Association.
