LaVerne Hickl Rodriguez, 48 of El Maton, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2006 in Lake Jackson, TX. She was born January 4, 1958 in Bay City to Joe N. Hickl and Albina Vaculin Hickl. She was a lifelong resident of El Maton, a 1976 graduate of Tidehaven High School, a lifelong member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing and a member of SPJST. She was employed for 15 years as a bookkeeper and salesperson at Texas Liquid Fertilizer Plant in El Maton and was a former employee of Bonus Crop Fertilizer of El Maton.

She is survived by her husband: Jose Rodriguez of El Maton; by her parents: Joe N and Albina Vaculin Hickl of El Maton; by her brothers: Edmund Joe Hickl & wife Sandra of Sweeny, David Hickl & wife Sally of Louise, Ronald Hickl & wife Cynthia of El Maton and Donald Hickl & wife Karen of El Maton; by her sister-in-law: Maria Rodriguez & husband Tony of Midfield; by 10 Nieces & Nephews, 3 Great Nieces, and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with Rev. Samuel Appiasi and Rev. Robert Hickl officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be E. J. Hickl, Shawn Hickl, Jody Hickl, Ryan Hickl, Pat Hickl & Emil Vaculin.

The family extends a special thanks to the wonderful nurses at Angle Care Home Health, the Dialysis Clinic in Lake Jackson, the Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake Jackson and the Kidney Foundation.
