September 21, 1951 – October 22, 2010

Laurie Lynn Lubbers, age 59, was called Home to Eternal rest with her Heavenly Father on Friday October 22, 2010. Laurie will be forever remembered by all - for her kind heart and her loving spirit. She was born in Alameda California to Ruth and Bob Hanzen, and will be met in Heaven by her daddy Bob. Laurie married Bill Lubbers on October 12, 1973 in Spring Branch and renewed her vows to Bill on their 37th anniversary, October 12, 2010. In 1979 Laurie and Bill moved to Bay City to raise their two children Melanie and Nathan Lubbers. Laurie is survived by her mother Ruth Hanzen and her loving and devoted husband Bill Lubbers. She is also survived by her children Nathan Lubbers, her daughter Melanie and her husband Eric Owens, as well as by her three treasured granddaughters Bryce, Tristyn, and Jordyn Owens. Laurie is also survived by her brother Bruce Hanzen, many brothers and sisters in law- Jim and Mary Lubbers, Charlie and Joan Lubbers, John and Janet Lubbers, Mary Jean and Jeff Craig, Sue and Bob Sizemore, and numerous nieces and nephews. Laurie was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Those who knew Laurie will miss her always and can take comfort in knowing that there is another angel in Heaven. Visitation will be Sunday October 24th at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home from 4-7 pm followed at 7pm by the praying of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. We will celebrate Laurie's life with a Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10:30 am on Monday October 25, 2010 with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating.
