Obituary

Lana Sue Folmar, 78, of Van Vleck passed away March 28, 2023 at home with family.  She was born February 15, 1945 in Bay City, TX to the late J. H. Conley Stansell and Mary Cleveland Stansell.

Lana "Suzy" Folmar who was mostly known to everyone as simply, Nanny, grew up in the country working in the hayfields and with cattle in Van Vleck, Texas. She loved being outside in the yard and was happiest when she was busy doing anything outdoors. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with a passion and looked forward to seeing them whenever she could. She was always ready to sit and visit with friends and family no matter the time of day. She loved doing for others whether it was running errands, cooking, cleaning or tending to children, and in fact had a hand in raising many during her 78 years. She always had advice to give on any given subject and somehow knew just what to say to make anyone feel better. She was a remarkable woman who was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Larry Folmar, her sister Wilma Jean, and her 2 grandsons J. J. Perrin and John Henry Folmar.

Survivors include her son James C. (Nicole) Folmar; daughters Marsha Perez and Rose Wilson; sister Linda King; grandchildren Amber (Jake) Butler, Christopher Folmar, Ty (Lexus) Folmar, Cody Folmar, Kaitlyn Folmar, Kylie Folmar, Anthony Padilla, Sinai Padilla, and Maribel Perez; great grandchildren Sidney Butler, Paige Butler, Reagan Bell, Teagan Folmar, and Tristyn Folmar; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2023 at Roselawn Memorial Park with Matt Springfield officiating.  Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Amber Folmar, Christopher Folmar, Ty Folmar, Cody Folmar, Kaitlyn Folmar, and Kylie Folmar.

A special Thank You to Bill and Suzanne Beaver as well as the entire team at Houston Hospice of El Campo for everything you did to help take care of Nanny. Words cannot express our gratitude.
