Kenneth D. Leck was born September 14, 1948 in Clifton, Texas to Herbert Albert Leck and Melba Lee Morris Leck Scott. He passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on January 19, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by an unborn child, his parents, step-father C. B. Jack Scott, and sister Patsy Farwell.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years Janice F. Leck of Bay City; daughter Kristie Meadows (Thomas) of Bay City; sister Rita Preuitt (Raymond) of Pleasant Shade, TN, brother-in-law Willie Hoffart (Theresa) of New Waverly, Tx and grandchildren Braden Meadows and Mackenzie Meadows.
Kenneth spent most of his life working in the auto parts industry starting at the age of 16 in his hometown of Clifton, Tx. In October of 1997 he and his wife purchased Dependable Motor Parts in Palacios, Tx and renamed it Prime Parts Supply. He also had a great love of playing golf with his many friends and family.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Monday at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Dr. Alan Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas Meadows, Fred Buckley, Taylor Crenshaw, Rory Doss, Chris Vandenbergh, Todd Smith, Rick Williams, and John Engle. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Hoffart, Mike Wade, all present and former employees of Prime Parts Supply, and his numerous golf buddies.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kenneth's name to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
