Obituary

Katherine Ray "Kay Rea" Milliff, 80, of Wadsworth passed away May 27, 2014. She was born February 13, 1934 in New Gulf, TX to the late George Peter Ottis and Meda Mangum Ottis. She was a 1952 graduate of Bay City High School.
Kay Rea was married to the love of her life Jerry Milliff for 55 years. Kay and Jerry partnered together in several businesses over the years. Her calling in life was serving others. She served her family raising three children and grand parenting 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She served her extended family and friends by opening her home in times of need making them feel loved and welcomed. She served her church through the Sacred Heart Altar Society and served God throughout her life.
Kay Rea was preceded in death by her husband James Gerold "Jerry" Milliff, brother George Peter Ottis, Jr.; brother in-laws Jimmy Milliff; Mike Milliff; Jim Gage; and grandson Doug De Vos. Survivors include sons Larry Milliff & wife Connie of Wadsworth; John Milliff & wife Tammy of Bay City; daughter Kay Lynn Kovar & husband Tom of Bay City; sisters Jean Gage of Lake Arthur, LA and Lynda Kennedy & husband Jay of Bay City; sister-in-laws Peggy Ottis of Belton, TX and Karen Milliff of Conroe; grandchildren, Jennifer Kovar of Bay City, Jason and Lanie Milliff of Bay City, Brandon Milliff of Bay City, Kacey Milliff of Austin, TX, and Jessamyn De Vos of Bay City, great-granddaughter, Ellasyn Jane Milliff and great-grandson, Luke James Milliff; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5pm until 8pm Friday at the funeral home with a rosary beginning at 6pm. Mass will be 10:30 am Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Jason Milliff, Brandon Milliff, Kelly Oates, Mike Oates, Tom Kovar and Dickie Kovar. Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.taylorbros.net.
