Katie Irene Watkins, 87, of Old Ocean, TX, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006 in Bay City, TX. She was born December 3, 1918 in Clarksville, AR to James Wiley Smith and Edith Elizabeth Davis Smith. She was a resident of the Sweeny, TX area since 1987 and a member of the Wild Peach Community Church in Brazoria, TX.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Jan & Jim Reddoch of Old Ocean, TX and Jean & M.J. Sparks of Livingston, TX; her Grandchildren and their spouses: Pamela & Keith Blades of Old Ocean, TX, Phillip Fisher, Jr & wife Linda of Spring TX, Kristin & Steve Vedder of Tulsa, OK, Susan & Jeff Robb of Tulsa, OK, Jim & Faith Reddoch of Portland, TX and David Reddoch of Wichita Falls, TX; Great Grandchildren and their spouses: Will & Treba Arlitt of Old Ocean, TX, Mandy & Dwayne Zatopek of Abilene, TX, Phillip Fisher, III & wife Stephanie of Jarrell, TX, Melanie & Brett Ashcraft of Spring, TX, Sean McFarlin of Tulsa, OK, Austin Vedder and Alec Vedder of Tulsa, OK, Kirk Reddoch of El Maton, TX, Kristin Killian of Sand Springs, OK, and Dustin Blades & Jimmy Blades, both of New Jersey; by eight Great-Great Grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband: Alvin Watkins; her parents: James Wiley & Edith Smith; her brother: Joe Smith; two sisters: Irma Fransden and Vera Webb; and by a Great Grandchild: James Ray Arlitt.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 29, 2006 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the Wild Peach Community Church in Brazoria, TX with Rev. Earl Breazeale officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City, TX. Pallbearers will be Phillip Fisher, III, Will Arlitt, Jeff Robb, Kirk Reddoch, Dwayne Zatopek, and Brett Ashcraft.
