Kathryn L. Dannels of Blessing went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 9, 2015. Kathryn was born on Oct. 21, 1927 in Mont Belvieu, Texas to the late Ray and Helen Bonneau Bowers.

Kathryn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends . Kathryn was retired after 25 years of teaching math and science. Kathryn was a wonderful cook who loved to garden and can everything out of her garden. Kathryn was an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Blessing. She held office in the Altar Society for numerous years serving as the treasurer.

Kathryn is survived by her loving family , children, sons, William Ray Dannels & daughter-in-law, Audrey Gail of Palacios, Michael Glen Dannels & daughter-in-law Jean of Anderson, Mo., Paul Duane Dannels & daughter-in-law Beckilu of Goliad, Tx., Robert Marcus Dannels & daughter-in-law Bridgette Lynette of Markham, Tx. John Raymond Dannels & daughter-in-law Lisa Lynell of Blessing, Tx.; daughters, Linda Kathleen Mathis & son-in-law Gary Lee of Blessing, Tx. Nancy Carol Van Woudenberg & son-in-law Doug Stephen of Port Orchard, Washington, Margaret Ann Dannels of Rosenberg, Tx., Anita Marie Isaac & son-in-law Brian of Roundrock, Tx.; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and great-great-grandchild; brothers, Edwin Bowers of Palacios, Tx. Charles Bowers & wife Carol of North Carolina, Hubert Bowers & wife Ida of Victoria, Tx. Harold Bowers & wife Cheryl of Palacios, Tx., Ralph Bowers & wife Alix of Bay City, Texas, Arthur Bowers & wife Cathy of Cuero, Tx., Walter Bowers & wife Dianne of Palacios and Wayne Bowers and wife Penny of San Antonio, Tx.; sisters, Blanche Pajestka & husband Charlie of Holland, Tx.,Gladys Martin & husband Joe of Conroe, Tx., Shirley Chilek & husband Clem of Wharton, Tx.; sister-in-law, Evelyn Quinn of Blessing, Tx., numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Preceded in death by her parents, husband of 49 years William David Dannels Jr., sister Marie "Sister Denise" Bowers; sister-in-law Mittis Bowers, brother-in-law Theodore Dannels & wife Pauline, sisters-in-law Alice Harvey & Margaret Dannels and brother-in-law, Clyde Quinn.

Visitation will be at St. Peters Catholic Church from 5:30-6:30P.M. Thursday, August 13 followed by the Holy Rosary. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Blessing. Interment will follow at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Dannels, James Mathis, Jacob Dannels, Brian Dannels, Sean Dannels, Joshua Dannels and Will Isaac. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons and members of the Blessing Altar Society.
