Kathleen L. Wetz, 67, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, in her home following a long fight with cancer. She was born July 13, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Eleanor and Leon Freyser and has been a resident of Van Vleck since 1987.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Eleanor & Leon Freyser; and by her brothers: Dennis and Joe Tannant.

She leaves behind her husband: James "Jim" Wetz; 3 children: Kimberly Wetz Keating, James Wetz & wife Debra, and Mike Wetz, all of Bay City; 4 grandchildren: Joshua Wetz, Tyler Keating, Kerrigan Keating and Fhynix Wetz; 4 step grandchildren: Micah, Javier, Tiffany and Ciera Escobedo; a brother: Richard Freyser & wife Loretta of Kentucky; and a sister: Sharon Ferber & husband Phil of Indiana. She will be greatly missed by all of her family, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is at peace now, without pain, in the hands of the Lord.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, July 25, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Wetz officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, TX. Pallbearers will be Albert Wetz, George Wetz, Robert Wetz, Jimmy Nicholyn, Joshua Wetz and Dale Dougherty. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Keating and Fhynix Wetz.
