Obituary

Annie Katherine Calk Green, 86, walked into heaven, healthy, happy and whole, just before sunrise on Monday, October 18th. While we will miss her, her family rejoices that she is at peace and reunited with those she loved the most. She overcame profound loss and heartache with resilience, the support of dear family and friends, and steadfast dedication to her Lord and Savior.

Born to Felix Clayton and Lillie Constance Kopecky Calk in Collegeport, Texas on October 20 th , 1934, she spent her early years in Wadsworth, and graduated from Bay City High School. She married Clarence Marvin "Bubba" Green in 1954. Their marriage was blessed with two wonderful sons, Johnnie Marvin "John" and Clyde Edward "Duke" Green. Many happy days were spent fishing, playing volleyball and making homemade peppermint ice cream with the boys, friends and family at "the camp" at Lake Sam Rayburn and the house on the San Bernard River.

For many years, "Kacky and Bubba" lived on Bayou Drive superbly caring for their mothers who lived beside them, loving their neighbors, and in devoted service to the children's ministry of their church. They loved the little ones, the needy, Sunday School, and bus routes. They both had a knack for quietly observing those in need and readily offering a meal, an extra set of clothes or a place to stay during times of crisis or distress. To the end of her days, she always sought opportunities to share the gospel with gentleness and care, often with a tract and a sweet prayer.

Katherine was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her beloved sons and three of her siblings and their spouses, Thomas and Lucille Calk, Sadie and Wyatt Ashcraft, Madeline and Kenneth Harris, and Edward Hornaday. She is mourned by her sister, Evelyn Hornaday, and a host of nieces and nephews, especially Clayton and Suzanne Calk. The family would like to thank them for their devoted and compassionate care of Kacky for the past seven years.

Friends are cordially invited for a visitation with the family on Saturday, October 23 rd from 2 – 3pm at Taylor Bros Funeral Home, 2313 Avenue I, Bay City, Texas.
