Karen Rogers Davis passed away May 23, 2017 after a lengthy illness. She was 61.
Born in Pearsall, Texas on Sept. 17, 1955, Karen and her family moved to Bay City when she was young. She graduated from Bay City High School in 1974.
Karen was beloved by all who knew her. Her charitable nature extended to friends, family and strangers. She always tried to see the good in everyone she met and more often than not her optimism rubbed off on those around her.
Although she never had any children, she reserved a special place in her heart for her cats, Elvis, Biscuit, Jake, Dooley and Jane.
Karen married the love of her life Michael in 1980 and they lived in Beaumont, San Antonio and Houston as Michael pursued his career in journalism. In 1994, she went to work at a specialty toy store in Houston named Child's Play and it was at that job where she met a circle of friends who remained close to her for more than two decades.
Karen is survived by her husband Michael Logan Davis, her twin sister Kathy Blaylock, sisters Sandra Rogers, Charlotte Janosky and Darla McCubbins.
Burial will be at a private ceremony at the Grimes Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 250 Williams St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303.
Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.
