Julia DeLeon Garcia, 80, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008. She was born June 19, 1928 in Bay City, TX to Jesse DeLeon, Sr. and Guadalupe Zapata DeLeon. She was a lifelong resident of Bay City, a retired cafeteria worker from the Bay City ISD and a member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband: Ezequiel Garcia, Sr. of Bay City; by her son: Sidney Garcia of Bay City; her daughters-in-law: Mary Jessie Garcia and Rose T. Garcia of Bay City; grandchildren: Brenda Reyes, Eddie Garcia, Richard Garcia, Monica Garcia, Stacie Garcia-Longoria, Ezequiel Garcia III & wife Charlotte, Jennifer Gomez, Anthony James Garcia & wife Melissa; great grandchildren: Russell Garcia, Christopher Garcia, Ashley Muraira, Sierra Garcia, Savannah Garcia, Alazae Longoria, Manuel Longoria, Selene Longoria, Davión Arellano, Anthony James Garcia Jr., Ronald Lee Gomez Jr., Gabby Garcia and Kaitlyn Gomez; and by 2 great-great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents: Guadalupe and Jesse DeLeon Sr.; her sons: Ezequiel Garcia Jr, Manuel D. Garcia and Richard Garcia; by her sister: Margaret Cervantes; and her brothers: Jesse and Joe DeLeon.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 3, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ezequiel T. Garcia, III officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
