Obituary

Judy Nell Pennington, 83, of Bay City, passed away January 23, 2026. She was born September 21, 1942, in Nueces County, Texas.

Judy lived and served her church and community in Bay City, TX for over 56 years. Judy was a selfless caregiver and volunteer that stood out most in her character traits. She lived and worked in Bay City for over 56 years serving her community and church. She owned and operated Penn-Craft Picture Framing and genuinely enjoyed serving her customers over these years. Her church related activities at First United Methodist Church included: Altar guild, Communion Steward, Sunday School Superintendent, Nursery coordinator, Bereavement committee leader, youth supporter, etc. Her Civic service included: Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls of Texas, Pink Ladies Auxiliary, Matagorda County Sheriff’s Citizens on patrol, Pilot Club, Matagorda County Livestock Show ticket office volunteer, Matagorda County Cattle Women’s Association, Matagorda County Election worker, Paws and Claws volunteer, along with many more civic charities and organizations. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew George Langdon and June Ford Bearden and her husband Paul Sidney Pennington.

Survivors include daughter, Kerry Ledwig-Newman (David); son, Andrew Kelby Pennington (Shanda); sister, Maralyn Vrba; grandchildren, Kieran & Langdon Ledwig, Todd & Lance Maxey; and great grandchildren, Tanner, Lenton, Karter, and Holden Maxey, along with many other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, January 30, 2026. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jim Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made out to the charity of your choice.
