Juanita Zarate Medina, 72, of Bay City, passed away May 26, 2017. She was born August 30, 1944 in Bay City, TX to the late Francisco and Adela Zarate.

Juanita grew up in Buckeye, TX and graduated from Tidehaven High School in the 1960's. She lived in Bay City the rest of life, working at QP Grocery Store, Bay City Food Mart and Walker Seed & Garden Center where she loved taking care of birds.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Elodie Z. Yanez and Rosa Z. Morales and brother Richardo Zarate. She is survived by her son Herman Medina, Jr. of Bay City; sister Tomasa Z. Silva of Houston; brother Benito Zarate of Bay City and numerous nieces, nephews and their children that she loved very much.

The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 9:00am on Friday, June 2, 2017. Funeral services will be held later the same day, at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, TX at 2:00pm. Pallbearers are Ricky Zarate, Roland Zarate, Ray Yanez, Roy Yanez, Jesse Morales and Johnny Silva. Honorary pallbearers are Rudy Nieto, Ruby Silva and Raymond Yanez.
