Juanita Valdez Guia, 59, of Bay City passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009. She was born May 24, 1950 in El Campo to Angelina Pulido & Alvino Valdez. Juanita was a resident of Bay City for the past 25 years, and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband: Pedro "Pete" Guia Sr. of Bay City; mother: Angelina Pulido of Bay City; 2 daughters: Lupe Collins & husband Craig of El Campo, and Joann Lule of Bay City; 2 sons: Anthony Guia and Pedro Guia Jr. both of Bay City; brother: Jimmy Valdez of Bay City; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Juanita was preceded in death by her father Alvino Valdez and stepfather Aristeo Pulido.

A Rosary will be recited 7:00 PM Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be held 10:00 AM Monday, October 26, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City with Father Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
