IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juan Jose
"Johnny" Rodriguez
August 24, 1958 – April 7, 2022
Juan Jose "Johnny" Rodriguez, age 63, sadly ended his journey on Thursday, April 7, 2022 after a short battle with cancer
Johnny was born on August 24, 1958, in Raymondville, TX, to Santana B. Rodriguez and Valeria R. Chavez. As a young child, Bay City became his home where he later married the love of his life of 33 years, Delia, and together they went on to have two amazing daughters. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Throughout Johnny's life he spent quite some time traveling for work as a safety technician. He took immense pride in being able to see different states, then return home to share those memories with his family. The time he spent at home, his favorite routine was to sit out on the porch, smoke his cigarettes, drink his coffee, and just soak up being outside. He also enjoyed taking trips down to the beach, spending time with his grandchildren, and simply watching ESPN, old western movies, or anything action related. He was a very loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees, so when baseball and football season would come around, you could not get his eyes off the T.V. His sarcasm and sense of humor stood out amongst most things, and there was never a time you would not laugh around him. Because of his amusing spirit, he inherited many nicknames, which most people would know him as. That includes the infamous Dawg, Sleep at the Wheel, and even Johnny Lightning. Beyond his goofiness, he had a heart of gold who loved everyone so fiercely without judgment. He is now living pain-free in paradise reunited with some of his loved ones.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents Santana and Valeria. He is survived by his wife Delia; his daughters, Samantha (Antoine), and Sierra; his grandchildren Darius, Grayson, and Layla; his siblings Paula Martinez, Nelma Brooks, Rosa Rodriguez, Martha Grayson, Isabel Huerta, Santana Rodriguez Jr., Maryjane Garcia, Maria Angelica "Angie" Rodriguez, and Lucilla "Luci" Garza, as well as many other loved ones.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Angels Care Home Health for their loving care and support throughout his time on hospice.
