Juan Gonzales, beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother went to be with the Lord on Monday July 18,2022 at 7:09pm in Floresville, TX.  Juan was preceded in death by daughter Belinda Gonzales, parents Jose Mendez Gonzalez and Sarita Vasquez Gonzalez and sisters Olga Rodriguez and Estella Vasquez of Palacios, TX.

Juan is survived by his loving family, wife Lucy Morales Gonzales of 45 years, son Juan Manuel Gonzales and his wife Heather Lynne Gonzales, daughter Elizabeth (Gonzales) Evenson-Murphy and her husband Cody Patrick Evenson-Murphy, grandchildren Tristin Patrick Evenson-Murphy, Belinda Diane Evenson-Murphy and twins Cody Patrick Jr. and Liam Michael Evenson-Murphy, and Brother Ruben Gonzales.

Juan was born in Weslaco TX on March 26, 1952. He grew up in Palacios, TX and graduated from Palacios High School in 1971.  He attended Wharton College for 2 years and married his high school sweetheart Lucy Gonzales on August 14, 1976.

He worked hard to support his family.  When not working he enjoyed fishing, playing tennis, softball, shooting pool, barbecuing, golfing and spending time with family and friends.  He was said to have a green thumb, always planting various plants and growing roses.  He loved to travel with his wife to visit with family and friends also their son in North Carolina or friends.  In recent years he enjoyed teaching both his older grandchildren about car maintenance and various things.  Juan loved being around his grandchildren, especially the twins, since he said they both kept him on his toes.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2022 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.
