Joyce Marie Hartsfield, 81, formerly of Palacios passed away August 1, 2020. She was born July 5, 1939 in Palacios, TX to the late Jesse Lee Sanders and Hazel Irene Rutledge Sanders.

Joyce spent her entire life dedicated to the church and her faith. She was the church bookkeeper and a Sunday school teacher. She had a long and fruitful career at STP in the Document Department. If you spent any time at the plant during the 80's or 90's you had to have visited her desk for her famous hot cinnamon candy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mark T. Hartsfield.

Survivors include daughter Terri Price & husband Jessie; sons Adrian Hartsfield and Mark Hartsfield & wife Linda; sister Mary Ruth Preas; grandchildren Monica Rocha & husband Pablo, Johnathan Tobias & wife Lisa, Sara Hartsfield & husband Josh Kurz, Alex Hartsfield, Haley Hartsfield, Carl Mikel, Tony Mikel, Marisa Dudley and husband Kelvin, Waylan Mikel and wife Amanda, Holly Garcia and husband Ryan; great grandchildren Benjamin Rocha & wife Samantha, Breanna Tobias, Jesse Tobias, Carter Kurz, Wren Lee Kurz, Hollyn Lou Kurz, Heather Thorn and husband Don, Megan Mikel, Carly Rann and husband Stephen, Tia Mikel, DJ Tolbert and wife Adrianna, Jordan Tolbert, Dillon Tolbert, Jamar Alston, Piper Mikel, Paisley Ralston, Kennedy Mikel, Ethan Wilson and great-great grandchildren Ava Rocha, Rosaleigh Rocha, Clyde Thorn, Billy Thorn, Presley Mikel, Tanner Mikel, Addie Mikel, Cameron Tolbert, Damion Tolbert, and Emery Tolbert.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 3:45 PM Tuesday at the Palacios Cemetery with Lloyd Rodriquez officiating.
