Joyce Davis Carr, 85, left her mortal family to be with her eternal family on July 8, 2012. Joyce was born on January 1, 1927 in Luling, TX. to the late E.C. "Buck" and Myrtle Sanders Davis. She was a devoted schoolteacher, who liked to live her life near and on the water.

She is survived by her family; grandchildren, Christopher Adam Carr of Midway, Texas, Sarah Schaefer & husband PFC Gregory T. Schaefer of Fort Carson, Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Isabelle & Chelsie Schaefer; sister, Dorothy Davis Birkner of Bay City, TX. and other loving family members. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas "Toney" Carr; son, Christopher Scott Carr.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Cedarvale Cemetery with Rev. Tom Quirk officiating.
