Joe Hickl 87, of El Maton, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011. He was born Nov. 9, 1923 to the late John & Julie Pavlicek Hickl in Frydek, Texas . Joe Married Albina Vaculin on August 31, 1948. They lived their life together in El Maton. They raised 4 sons, Edmund, David, Ronald and Donald, 1 daughter La Verne, on their family farm. Joe farmed all his life raising cotton, milo, corn, a few cattle with the help of his wife and sons and daughter. Farming and music was his joy in life. He loved Churchs chicken, BBQ and dominos. He played guitar for many years. Joe was a devoted member of Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing and St. Robert's Catholic Church in Markham, Tx.. He prayed the Rosary everyday. He was a member of the KJT. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Albina, sons, Edmund & wife Sandra of Sweeny, David & wife Sally of Louise, Ronald & wife Cynthia of El Maton, Donald & wife Karen of El Maton, and son-in-law Jose Rodriguez of El Maton; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; brother Lawrence Hickl & wife Edith, 3 sisters-in-law; brother & sister-in-law Ed & Tilley Dornak of Blessing. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sweet daughter La Verne, his brothers William Hickl,Sr., John Hickl, Jr., August Hickl, Louis Hickl, Edward Hickl, Sr., Jesse Hickl, along with sisters, Louise Saha and Annie Holub. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00P.M. Friday at Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Blessing. The rosary will be recited at 7:00P.M.
