Joseph Wallace Broussard, 87, of Port Lavaca was called home by Jesus on Saturday, November 1, 2014. He was born on March 12, 1927 in the village of Choupique, Calcasieu Parrish, Louisiana to the late Noah Joseph & Vernie Richard Broussard. Wallace was a World War II Army Veteran. He was retired from Brown and Root as a painter and sandblaster.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years: Marian Inez Broussard of Port Lavaca; 4 children: Oney Yendrey, Alton Yendrey, Betty Stubblefield, and Patty Schaffer & husband Cecil; sister: Ailene Broussard Bickham; 2 brothers: Sidney Broussard & wife Rita, and Noah Broussard Jr.; and by numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife: Lillie Hart Broussard, and 17 brothers & sisters.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Palacios Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Brother Shan Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Sidney Broussard, Alvin Broussard, Stephen Harvey, Justin Broussard, and Jody Simmons.
