Josefina Velma Perez, 77, of Bay City Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2026. She was born December 14, 1948, in Edcouch Texas, to the late Santos & Josefina Vasquez. She was delivered into the world by her maternal grandmother. She was baptized & dedicated her life to Jehovah God at 16 years old & stayed very strong in her faith the rest of her life.

She got married to Gabriel Perez on April 16, 1966 & by 1982 was a mother of 5. She spent her life loving on her family, worshipping Jehovah & helping out everyone that had the privilege of coming across her path. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt & friend. She opened her heart & home to everyone she knew. She loved cutting her grass, gardening, caring for her plants, sewing, reading, shopping, visiting with family & friends & spreading the word. She is very much loved & will always be in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Santos and Josefina Vasquez; her husband, Gabriel Perez; sister, Belen Guzman; and her brother, Gilbert Vasquez. She is survived by her children, Gabriel Perez Jr, Martha Perez, Maggie Perez, Daniel Perez & Claudia Perez. Her Grandchildren, Kat Contreras, Mark Villarreal, Christopher Villarreal, Edward Lee Villarreal, Crystal Perez, Valerie Herrera, Rudy Perez, Stephan Perez, Danny Ray Perez, Jo Ella Perez, Angelina Perez, Benjamin Perez, Raymon “Izi” Garcia & Ateera Garcia & 17 great grandchildren. Her sister, Bertha Loza; and brothers, Santos, Carlos, Abelardo, Arturo & Juan Manuel Vasquez

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 9-10am Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services begin at 10:00am with Brother Jose Luis Garcia officiating.
