Johnnie Ernest "Butch" Roe, 63, of Van Vleck passed away Feb. 25, 2010. He was born Feb. 13, 1947 in Bay City, TX to the late John Henry & Hilda Marie Johnson Roe. He was a wonderful man who loved his family deeply. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, roping and fishing, especially with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Peggy West Roe of Van Vleck; daughter La Trisha Roe of Van Vleck; son John David Roe & wife Vanessa of Markham; sister Donna Davis of Van Vleck and grandchildren Jadynn Roe, Julian Roe, Areeana Brewer and Rusha Randall. His brother Steven Edward Roe preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm to 8pm Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 1, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Lane Pardue officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Dale Strelec, Willie Strelec, Jr., Kenneth May, Jesse Aguilar, Jim Halbert and Ronnie Radford. Jimmy Stevens, Jake Roberts, Bobby Harris, Gayle Holton, Tommy Henderson and Tony Gray will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Butch John Roe Foundation at IBC Bank.
