John Louis Underwood, Sr., 82, of Bay City passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City. He was born December 25, 1922 in Rogers, TX to the Late Martin Luther & Mattie Jewell Robinson Underwood. Mr. Underwood served his country in the Army during WWII, was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a resident of Bay City since the age of 11, and retired from the First National Bank in 1986 after 35 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years: Lillian Ann Parker Underwood of Bay City; son: John Louis Underwood, Jr. & wife Nikole; and grandson: Hayden Parker Underwood all of San Antonio. Mr. Underwood was preceded in death by his sister: Virginia Rigby.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 14, 2005 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Dr. Joe Cannon Officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers are Tony Wells, Frank Baker, Jr., Ray Postum, Charlie Johnson, Brent Ethington, and James Barbour.
