On May 22, 2019, our beloved brother and uncle, John Salazar, went to be with the Lord. He went peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.
On September 28, 1952 in Newgulf, Texas, he was born to Juan and Isabel Chavez Salazar.
He was a lifelong resident of the Van Vleck and Bay City area.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends, along with his pet cats.
He had a love for studying the Catholic Church teachings. He also enjoyed music from the 1950's and 1960's, as well as weather reports. He would really enjoy videotaping family holidays, although he himself, did not like to be photographed or videotaped.
Above all he loved and cared deeply for his family.
John leaves behind a loving sister, Guadalupe, along with many nieces and nephews. He is joining his parents Juan and Isabel Chavez Salazar; sisters, Mary Lou and Teresa, and brothers Luis and Robert.
The family will receive friends and relatives 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday May 28 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The Rosary will at 6:30pm that evening. Funeral Mass is 10:00am Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers are Mark Ramirez, Brian Ramirez, Ernest Ramirez, Jr., Juan Cantu, Jr., Roberto Cantu and Jason Salazar. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Martinez, Joe Salazar and Chris Ramirez.
