John Richard Ressler, 86, of Palacios, TX passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at his home. He was born August 16, 1922 in Palacios to Ira Ambrose Ressler and Hazel Hannah Scott Ressler. He was a retired Mail Carrier for the U S Postal Service and a retired carpenter. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by his daughter: Suzanne Henson of Pflugerville, TX; his sons and daughter-in-law: Donald Ressler of Palacios and Herbert & Monica Ressler of Palacios; by a brother: Joe Ressler of Dripping Springs, TX; and by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Billie Cee Ressler and his parents: Ira A. and Hazel S. Ressler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Trinity Baptist Church in Palacios with Rev. Louis Rush officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery, Palacios, TX. Pallbearers will be Bradley Henson, Donald Ressler, Jr., Zachary Ressler, Miles Ressler, Miguel Diaz and Roger Grace.
