John Puentes, 43, of El Campo passed away February 3, 2014. He was born August 30, 1970 in Palacios, TX to Jesus Puentes and Pascuala Altamira Puentes.

Survivors include his mother Pascuala Puentes of Bay City; his wife Michelle Puentes of El Campo; daughters Brieaunah Puentes & Rebekah Puentes both of El Campo; sons John Puentes, Jr. and Ruben Puentes both of El Campo; sisters Mary Martinez of Victoria, Frances Resendez of Alvin, Petra Zuniga of El Campo, Cynthia Flores of Angleton, Teresa Blackmon, Jo Ann Ortiz and Jessica Polk all of Palacios and Suzanne Woods of Bay City and one brother Thomas Puentes of Palacios. He was preceded in death by his father Jesus Puentes.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Bryan Heyer officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Guevera, Daniel Guevera, Neal Ward, Peter Flores, Juan Guevera, Alfred Blackmon, Reginald Woods and John Puentes, Jr. His son-in-law Jacob Ocanas will serve as honorary pallbearer.
