John Robert "J.R." Middleton AKA "Jinks" Middleton, 82, of Bay City, passed away January 23, 2008. He was born January 11, 1926 in Carbon, TX to the late Chester Owen "C.O." Middleton and Johnnie Velma Reese Middleton. He retired from Matagorda County Drainage District # 1 as a Supervisor in 1991, served his country during World War II as a member of the US Army's 222nd Infantries Fightin' First, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay City, and a member of VFW Post 2438.
J.R. is survived by his loving wife of 60 years: Winnie Lowery Middleton of Bay City; son: Larry J. Middleton & wife Dorinda of Kingwood, TX; daughter: Judy Harden & husband Roy of Salado, TX; 3 sisters: Sue Lowery, Juanell Clayton, and Neva Hamilton all of Bay City; 2 brothers: T.J. Middleton and Owen Middleton of Bay City, TX; 2 grandchildren: Jonathan Middleton and Nicole Ruffino; and 3 great grandchildren: Jonathan Wayne Middleton, Chase Ruffino, and Kyle Ruffino. He was preceded in death by his parents: Chester Owen and Johnnie V. Middleton.
The Family will receive visitors from 6 PM to 8 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 26, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be: Paul Lowery, Jon Middleton, Clifton Lowery, Clifford Lowery, Rex Middleton, and Lynn Middleton
