John Voss McCrosky, Jr., 80, of Wadsworth, TX, passed away January 3, 2019. He was born August 4, 1938 in Newgulf, TX to the late John Voss McCrosky, Sr. and Lila Louise Lloyd McCrosky.
John was a 1957 graduate of Bay City High School and attended Wharton County Junior College. He was a member of the rodeo team where he participated in bull riding and bareback riding. John was a longtime rancher, farmer, and cowboy. He worked for Bay City Livestock Auction and Runnells Pierce Ranch. Early in their marriage, John and Jeanette moved to Midway, Arkansas to work on a dairy farm. They returned to Texas where John became the ranch foreman at Six Bar Ranch for 35 years. In 1998, he retired to Wadsworth, TX to the K Diamond Ranch.
John is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette Holloway McCrosky, sister Patsy McCrosky Sells and son David Lynn McCrosky. He is survived by daughters Tammy Zboril (Floyd) of Louise, TX, Tracie Pohlmeyer (Jim) of Sweeny, TX, Tina Davis (Paul) of Fredericksberg, TX, Theresa King (Carl) of Markham, TX, and Tonya Kulak (Steven) of Boling, TX; sisters Donna McCrosky Johnson (Hubert) and Elaine McCrosky Hoffpauir (David); grandchildren Walter Pohlmeyer, Pamela McLeod, Floyd "Russ" Zboril, Jr., Sarah Hughes, Blake Davis, Keli King, Hannah Borden and Heath Kulak; great-grandchildren Lila McLeod, Lane McLeod and Heston Kulak.
The family will receive friends and relatives 9:00-10:00am Monday, January 7, 2019 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Services will follow visitation at 10:00am at the funeral home with Matt Springfield officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers are Walter Pohlmeyer, Pamela McLeod, Blake Davis, Sarah Hughes, Russ Zboril, Keli King, Hannah Borden and Heath Kulak.
The family would like to thank Linda Loewen and her wonderful staff at The Home Place, and Harbor Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
