Joel Wayne Morrow, 87 of Bay City went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 10, 2006. He was born June 20, 1919 in Concrete, TX to James Esker Morrow and Claudia Louise Tate Morrow.

Mr. Morrow was a resident of Bay City for the past 67 years. He was a graduate of
Cuero High School and attended Texas A&M University for two years. He came to Bay City to collect a $10 debt, met his future wife, and stayed to raise a family and for the rest of his life. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and treasurer of the Men's Class. His businesses in Bay City included tire retailer, gasoline distributor, pecan tree graft specialist and Salvation Army representative. He was also a past president of the Bay City Rotary Club, and represented the club to brother clubs in Harare, Zimbabwe, Africa and to Brescia, Italy. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Thelma Morrow and a son, Lawrence Wayne Morrow.

He is survived by his son, Joel E. Morrow of Richmond, TX; a daughter, Barbara Kay Nedry of Stafford, TX; his sister Bonnie Parker of Midway, TX; grandchildren: Lydia Ruth Giordano of Richmond, TX, Michael Louis Wayne Morrow of Houston, TX, Russell Wayne Morrow of Pasadena, TX, Deanna Joyce Morrow of Clear Lake, TX and Lara Nicole Nedry of Stafford, TX; and by four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church of Bay City with Rev. Chris Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
