Obituary

Joe Henry Senkyrik, 79, of Markham, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on March 14, 2011. Joe was born February 9, 1932, to the late Joseph Senkyrik and Mary Ann Kubala Senkyrik. He was an army veteran during the Korean War, a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years, a devoted husband and father, and a devout Catholic. Joe earned a living as a farmer, rancher, electrician and convenience store owner, and he loved to fish, garden and share his numerous talents with anyone who needed help.

Joe is survived by his wife of 35 years, Josephine McLeod Senkyrik; his children Clint White of New Mexico; Tess White and husband Scott of Austin; Jodie Senkyrik of San Marcos; Melinda Westbrook and husband Terry of Rockport; Danny Senkyrik and wife Letha of Houston; Ed White of Augusta; Linda Popek and husband David of Bay City; Loyd White and wife Kathy of Lake Jackson; and Monica Bryant of Wimberley; his grandchildren Jarred White; Brenna White; Brandy Bailey and husband Richard; Dana Ramsey; Jennifer Jenkins; Rachel England; David Aaron England; Lucinda Frachtenberg and husband Eitan; Sheri Denton and husband Mike; Nathan Westbrook; Natalie Westbrook; Justin Senkyrik; Stephen Arnold; Mathew Hooten; Renee Popek; Michelle Popek; Josh White; Julia White; and Britney Mitchell; and his great grandchildren Kason Klump; Kylee Klump; Hoyt Peck; Reese Denton; Drew Denton; Creighton Westbrook; and Naom Frachtenberg.

Funeral services are planned for Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City, Texas, beginning at 2:00p.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Rosary will be at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home at 6:00p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.

Pallbearers will be grandsons; Stephen Arnold, Mathew Hooten, Josh White, Justin Senkyrik, Nathan Westbrook, Jarred White, David Aaron England and great-grandson, Kason Klump.

Honorary pallbearers include Paul Kristynik, Marvin Kristynik, David Kristynik, Paul Manna, Tom Kovar, Richard "Dickie" Kovar, Tony Gauthier, George Sykora, Louis Senkyrik Jr., Mark Senkyrik, Raymond Crow, and Mike Jenkins.
