Joe Lewis Rodriguez, Jr., 50, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024. He was born January 1, 1974, in Bay City, Texas to Joe Lewis Rodriguez, Sr., and Herminia Ramos Rodriguez

Joe loved life, enjoyed working out, and spending time with family and friends.

He enjoyed a good meal, laughing, telling stories and having a good time.

When Joe was not working, he spent most of his time at the gym. In the early 2000's, he competed in weightlifting contest and won the Mr. Texas title for that year.  Joe spent so much time at the gym, he met his wife there. On January 1, 2009, Joe married Gloria Garcia on his 35th birthday in Las Vegas, who he would spend the next 15 years of his life with. Enjoying the many attractions Las Vegas had to offer.

He loved to travel and made a career out of it. A profession in Electrical and Instrumentation, allowed Joe to work all over the country in Industrial plants and Offshore platforms. From North Dakota to Texas and Washington to the Gulf of Mexico. Doing so allowed him to meet and work with many people he considered family.

As true Dallas Cowboy fans, Joe and Gloria spent many days watching the Dallas Cowboys. Joe loved the Dallas Cowboy so much, he worked for the Dallas Cowboys franchise in his early years.

Joe always posted how his day was going and how he felt. He wrote:

Hello My family, friends, and my beautiful wife.... I wanted to say from the bottom of my heart Thank you for your prayers and support. Praise God I'm heading back to work..... Thank you all.... Especially my wife that has been by my side Thank you sweetheart without you I couldn't do it on my own... Thank you for being wonderful and supporting and I want to also Thank my family, my father and mother, sisters and brothers for being there. Once again thank you my friends and family.

Joe will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Vincent Rodriguez; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. D.L. & Guadalupe Ramos; uncles, John L. Ramos, Jeff LaViola, Peter Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Garcia Rodriguez, of Lake Jackson, Tx; parents, Joe and Herminia Rodriguez of Bay City, Tx; brothers, Adrian & (Rebecca) Rodriguez, and Antonio & (JoAnn) Rodriguez; sisters, Cynthia & (Jose) Longoria, and Veronica Sanchez; grandmother, Carmel Rodriguez; Uncles & Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 9-10:00am Friday, October 11, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30am and Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00am with Father Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers for Joe will be David Villa, Eric Rodriguez, Adrian Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, Jose Longoria, and William Longoria.
