Joe Angel Gonzales Jr., 79, of Palacios passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011. He was born September 14, 1931 in San Benito, TX to the late Romana Salinas & Jose Angel Gonzales Sr. Joe has been a resident of Palacios for 70 years, was a member of the Catholic Church, and was a Commercial Shrimper.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Tina Shannon and Kimberly Gonzales; 3 sons: Joe Gonzales III, Earnest Gonzales, and Andy Gonzales; by a sister: Cecila Haskins; and brother: Celso Gonzales, Sr., and by numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; by a sister: Janie Aparicio; and by brothers: Ernesto, Rudolfo, & Ignacio Gonzales.

The Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, August 04, 2011 at Palacios Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 5, 2011 at Palacios Funeral Home, Palacios, TX with Rev. Bryan Heyer officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Palacios Cemetery.
